Academic seminar

Each year, the academic seminar brings together researchers and practitioners involved in academic and vocational training.

Each year, for two days, actors from the academic world as well as practitioners (from the business world, the community and local authorities) meet at the Campus to question and reflect on the challenges of the ecological and social transition. The Campus's training and research activities are also presented.

Edition 2025

    Matthieu Latapy (CNRS, ISC),
    Noam Marseille (Ville de Paris),
    Antoine Rieu (Université Gustave Eiffel).

    Marine Lamoureux (La Croix L'hebdo),
    Emma Stokking (The Shift Project),
    caroline verzat (ESCP Business School),
    jean-philippe pierron (Université de Bourgogne).

    Thomas Gauthier (emlyon business school),
    Marie-Aline Roule (Université de Nanterre),
Céline Del Bucchia (Ecole Gaïa d'Audencia Nantes),
Tanguy Fardet (INRAE et Réseau Ocapi).

Edition 2023

The scientific community of the Campus, including the authors of theManual of the Great TransitionandSmall Manuals of the Great Transitionas well as action research practitioners were pleased to meet at the academic council on 30 June and 1 July 2023.

This year, the board, moderated by Christian Koenig, academic advisor of the Campus, and Véronique Malé, co-leader, was the opportunity to make a return to the year 2022-2023 at the Campus on research and training topics.

6 authors of theSmall Manuals of the Great Transition (external link)presented their works:

Round table : The evolution of Higher Education and ecological and social transition issues

The afternoon of Friday was an opportunity to discuss the evolution of higher education and the issues of ecological and social transition with a round table rich of various actors in this evolution:

  • Kelvin Friskt of Shift Project,
  • Christian Koenig, for the working groups of the Ministry of Higher Education on the common foundation of knowledge and skills,
  • Alexandra Verguet, from the Transition Campus for report on the accompaniment of the University of Cergy,
  • Nicolas Graves de For an ecological awakening
  • Nicolas Beaumont, Michelin Director of Sustainable Development, who supports the training of trainers.

It provided an overview of the possible follow-up leads.

Round table : The research-action questions at the Campus around pedagogy, sobriety, the indicator of relational capacity and our link to nature

A second panel discussion focused on the research-action questions at the Campus around 4 examples: pedagogy, sobriety, indicator of relational capacity and connection to nature with Luigi Russia, post doc on the pedagogies of the transition at the Campus, Florence Drouet, research officer volunteer at the Campus, Cécile Ezwan, teacher at La Rochelle on the indicator of relational capacity, Thérèse Rabotin and Line Rondard on the relationship to nature.

Participants were able to assess the progress of the Transition Campus experiments and discuss the positioning of action research at the Campus. The launch of the series of experiments and testimonies has already been announced with two issues published.

Round table : Relationship economy and triple capital accounting

The Saturday round table was also very rich with high-quality speakers who discussed the relationship economy and triple capital accounting with:

  • Clément Morlat, Scientific Coordinator of the Ecological Accounting Chair and Director of CERCES,
  • Mathieu Astic, Head of CSR at Endrix, and Partner at CERCES,
  • Marion Cohen, co-creator of " The other economy ", platform involved in the construction of another economic model,
  • Dorothy Browaeys, President of TEK4Life,
  • Sylvie Benard, Founder Experte Environment & Ecological Transition, former Environmental Director LVMH,
  • Cécile Renouard, President of the Transition Campus.

After an introduction by Cécile Renouard on the scientific landscape in research on new economic models, Sylvie Benard presented the origin and intentions of the foundation of the Chair of Ecological Accounting.

Clement Morlat and Matthew Astic reported on their research and experimentation in ecological accounting. Dorothy Broaways presented her experience and Marion Cohen the project "The other economy "

On July 5 and 6, 2019, the Campus welcomed the members of its academic council for an annual meeting in Forges. The Campus had a year of projects, experiments and first educational success. Some 30 participants came, friends of the project and participants during the training sessions.

Two days together to take stock and project.

The objective of the academic council was threefold:

  • Learning know each other and establish a bond of conviviality and fraternity, especially between those who have not yet known each other,
  • Debriefer last year and its first successes,
  • Project in the coming academic year.

The first day was devoted to rereading the four main types of activities proposed by the campus. After a time of celebration of all the work done and the enthusiasm aroused, we were able to make a critical analysis, in small groups, of each of the proposals.

There are many lessons learned and should make it possible to capitalize on the experience gained in order to refine the proposals.

Whether for short training courses of the Central type or ESSEC (3 to 4 days in immersion for about 20 students), teacher training (as with the FNEGE), type training certificates such as the T-Camp or the conference days of the Rencontres de Forges, the Campus has always been a place of exclusion, immersion and deepening rich, sometimes transformative, of the stakes of the ecological, social and solidarity transition.

Of course, there are still areas for improvement, on the side of structuring certain proposals, or of following up the old ones, so that the appropriation of the learned content is made in the best possible conditions.

An abundance of ideas and energy

The second day gave rise to a rich exploration of ideas and energies for the coming year. It will not be obvious to achieve them all as quickly as desired, but the message has passed well and we expect to build on professional training, training of elected officials or NGO activists, or even seminars of researchers!

Jean-Philippe Poupard and Louise Browaeys, professional facilitators and friends of the campus, contributed greatly to the animation of the two days. Indeed, the three objectives set have been largely achieved. Building on the richness of the encounters and a bubbling collective intelligence, the Campus is ready to " forge at a higher speed", and this, as soon as next fall!

Thank you very much!
